We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday at this B&B. There's plenty to do in the area, and there are lovely places nearby. The hostess is wonderful; we wanted for nothing.

Beautiful B&B, cozy and beautifully decorated. In a stunning and incredibly peaceful location, with complete privacy. A very warm welcome. Slept wonderfully on a comfortable bed and was treated to a very extensive and delicious breakfast in the morning. Fantastic!

Spacious and beautifully furnished bed and breakfast nestled in the meadows. Everything is provided. Beautiful surroundings with plenty of sights to see. And a fantastic hostess. Our dog was welcome to come along and enjoyed it just as much as we did.

What a wonderful B&B in a beautiful and peaceful spot where you'll immediately feel at home. Highly recommended! The apartment is fully equipped, tastefully decorated, and offers plenty of space. You can use the kitchen (with a dishwasher!), there's a comfortable corner sofa, the beds are comfortable, and there's a lovely shower (with plenty of light in the bathroom: very pleasant). Hostess Martha is a sweetheart and makes sure you have everything you need. You can let us know what you'd like for breakfast, so there's not much to throw away: well-organized. The breakfast was more than excellent. The location of this B&B is also ideal: you can easily visit the three northern provinces. We'd love to come back again. For mountain bikers: the Marum MTB trail is just a few minutes from the B&B: very enjoyable.

So the 11 days at the Houtwal were just great. An escape into the countryside of the province of Groningen! We spend Christmas and New Year at the place and had the best time you can imagine. The accommodation was simply great and the care we got from Martha was kind and warm. For us it was just the perfect vacation to relax and unwind from the hectics. I only can recommend de Houtwal with 100%. Thanks Martha and hope to see you again!❤️
